We are pleased to inform that ENA is starting 2025 with a new Executive Committee, taking over from the team excellently led by Rob Wiegers who has successfully guided our organization in the last years. This new board, led by Fidel Grandia (President) and Rainer Gellermann (Vice-president), includes 12 experts in different fields of NORM management, from the academia and the industrial sector. Its main objective will be to continue supporting our members, especially corporate members, with a better understanding of their needs.
In this new period, the internal organization of the ENA will change in some respect, and the first decision made has been the replacement of the current Working Groups by Strategic Actions. These Actions will be announced to our members shortly. In addition, we believe it is essential to improve the visibility of our organization at an international level, mainly to the key industrial sectors in NORM, attracting to ENA the main companies that deal with NORM, and offering the knowledge and experience of our members.
One of the main challenges of the ENA will be to play a key role in promoting the development of new technologies that can lead to minimization of NORM and the valorization of these residues with due consideration of radiation protection aspects. This issue is especially relevant considering the demand for critical materials for Green Energy Transition, which in many cases is impacted by the production of NORM.
An important message that the new board wants to send to ENA members is that our organization is plural and participation in all these actions is totally open to our members, and we will be happy to receive any contribution. More news from ENA will be announced soon on our website.
